تفاوت Between و Among
معادل فارسی among و between یکسان است، ولیamongدر انگلیسی موقعی به کار می رود که بیش از دو نفر یا دو چیز مطرح باشند:
.She divided the cake among the four children
در حالی که between موقعی به کار می رود که فقط دو نفر یا دو چیز مطرح باشند:
.She divided the cake between the two children
تفاوت The number of و A number of
فعل مفرد + اسم جمع + the number of
فعل جمع + اسم جمع + a number of
مثال:
The number of books is not enough......... تعداد کتابها کافی نیست .
A number of books have been stolen ......تعدادی از کتابها سرقت شده اند
